Observed the fifth day of May, Cinco de Mayo marks the victory of the Mexican Army over the French at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. All Cinco de Mayo sites included in this section must be in English. All sites should also be geared toward classroom teachers. They may offer lesson plans, classroom activities, art or craft ideas, educational games, discussion topics, reading comprehension exercises, or other information that could be used to observe Cinco de Mayo in the classroom setting.
